何かをとても注意深く、詳細に読む、あるいは調べることです。契約書や本などによく使われます。

やや形式的な表現で、主に書面英語で使われます。「peruse」はじっくり読む意味ですが、たまに「ざっと読む」と解釈されることもあるので注意しましょう。「peruse the contract」など、書類や本によく使われます。
