أن تشعر بمفاجأة أو ارتباك شديد بحيث لا تعرف كيف تتصرف أو ماذا تفعل بعد ذلك.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

غالباً ما يستخدم في سياقات رسمية أو أدبية. في الإنجليزية الأمريكية، يُساء فهمه أحياناً ليعني 'غير متأثر'، لكن معناه الصحيح هو 'مرتبك'. كثيراً ما يأتي مع أفعال مثل 'look'، 'seem'، أو 'appear'.
