人に気づかれないように隠れたり、静かにその場をうろうろすること。オンラインでは参加せずに様子を見る意味もある。

'うろつく'や'潜む'はいずれもやや怪しい印象を与える。特に日常会話やネットで、相手に気づかれずにいる時に使う。
