結び目があるもの、またはねじれて絡まっているもの。髪や筋肉が固くなったり、もつれたりする状態も表す。

「knotted」はロープや髪、靴ひもなど物理的に絡まった物や、「knotted muscles」のように筋肉のこわばりにも使うが、感情には使わない。
