Definition

主に木や金属、石などの表面に、別の素材をはめ込んで装飾された状態のこと。細工や装飾品によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くの場合、名詞の前で形容詞として使われます（例『inlaid table』＝象嵌細工のテーブル）。『engraved』（彫られた）とは異なり、はめ込む技法を指します。
