感情（特に怒り）をさらに激しくすること、または体の一部を赤く腫れさせること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

感情や状況の悪化には「刺激する」、医学的には「炎症を起こさせる」を使う。「'inflame tensions'は緊張を高める」の意味。「ignite」（火）や「enrage」（激怒させる）とは違う。
