Definition
Buzulların koparak denizde yüzen çok büyük buz kütleleridir. Suyun üzerinde küçük bir kısmı görünürken, asıl büyük kısmı suyun altındadır.

Genellikle doğa bilimlerinde, coğrafya ve soğuk deniz ortamlarında kullanılır. 'Tip of the iceberg' deyimi, görünenden çok daha fazlası olduğunu anlatır.
