感情的に強くなる、または困難な状況でも文句を言わずに立ち向かうこと。誰かに強くなれと言うときによく使うカジュアルな表現。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ほとんどがカジュアル表現で、オーストラリアやイギリスでよく使われる。冷たい印象を与えることがあるので注意。'Come on, harden up!' 等の言い回しで使われる。'toughen up'と類似。
