Definition

쫓거나 경쟁하고 있는 대상에게 점점 가까워지는 것.

주로 경주, 경쟁 또는(물리적·비유적으로) 거리를 좁힐 때 사용함: 'gain on the leader'. 무언가를 얻는 의미는 아님. 일상적인 표현.

The second runner started to gain on the leader.
