Definition
Cair de um lugar mais alto para um mais baixo, geralmente por acidente; também é usado quando algo se desprende e cai de outra coisa.

Geralmente informal; muito usado para objetos ou pessoas perdendo o equilíbrio ('fall off a bike', 'fall off a table'). Pode ser usado para quedas em quantidade ('as vendas caíram'), mas é menos comum. Não confunda com 'fall down', que é mais geral para cair no chão.
