ひもやばねなどが自分自身を囲むように巻かれている様子を表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に物理的な物（コード、ホース、蛇など）に使います。「coiled spring（巻かれたバネ）」「coiled snake（とぐろを巻いたヘビ）」のような使い方が多いです。抽象的な意味ではあまり使いません。
