이 표현은 즐겁고 행복한 순간이나 경험도 영원히 계속될 수 없고 언젠가는 끝난다는 뜻이다.

주로 휴가나 모임 등 즐거운 일이 끝날 때 약간은 아쉬운 감정을 담아 사용한다. 부정적인 상황에는 쓰지 않는다.
