Un tightwad es una persona que odia gastar dinero y es extremadamente cuidadosa o tacaña con su dinero. Suele usarse en tono negativo o en broma.

Informal y algo burlón. Más negativo que 'ahorrativo', se usa cuando alguien es demasiado tacaño. Es común decir 'He's such a tightwad.' No es educado usarlo en situaciones serias.
