다른 사람들이 주저할 때 스스로 책임을 맡거나 어려운 일에 앞장서서 나서는 것.

비공식적이며 동기부여 상황에서 자주 사용됨. 'step up to the plate'와 유사하게 필요할 때 주도적으로 행동하는 뉘앙스를 가짐. 단순히 'step up'(단계 상승)과는 다름.

It's time for someone to step up to this big challenge.
