Definition
Fazer o trabalho de outra pessoa temporariamente ou ocupar o seu lugar porque essa pessoa não está disponível.

Expressão informal, usada para situações temporárias, como trabalho, apresentações ou reuniões. Usualmente referente a pessoas: 'stand in for the boss'. Diferente de 'replace', que pode ser permanente.
