Definition

動いたりそわそわしたりせず、一定の時間じっと座っていること。落ち着いて座っているよう求める時によく使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

子供や場面の指示（例:『お医者さんのためにじっと座っていて』）によく使われます。'for'はその後ろに「時間」や「場面」を続けられます（例:『写真のためにじっと座る』）。
