相手が何かについて心配や不安を感じている時に、安心できるように励ましたり説明したりすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

丁寧でサポートが必要な場面でよく使う。'reassure her about the exam'のように使い、約束する'assure'とは異なり、不安を和らげる意味。
