Definition

「prong」はフォークの歯やプラグの金属部分など、物から突き出している細くて尖った部分を指します。また、何かの枝分かれした部分も表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォークの歯やプラグの端子、道具の先端部分に使われます。“three-pronged approach” のように計画の「三つの方向性」としても用いられます。日常会話ではあまり出てきません。
