笛やバグパイプなどの管楽器を演奏する人のこと。特にバグパイプ奏者を指すことが多い。

特にスコットランドやアイルランドなどでバグパイプ奏者に対して使われることが多いですが、一般的な笛吹きにも使えます。「配管工」の意味ではありません。
