Passar através de algo com força, geralmente partindo ou cortando. Geralmente descreve um objeto afiado ou um sentimento intenso a atravessar uma superfície ou barreira.

Utilizado para objetos físicos (facas, setas), mas também para luz, som ou emoções ('her voice pierced through the silence'). Mais formal que somente 'perfurar', transmite a ideia de atravessar totalmente.
