Ir más allá de un límite, punto u objetivo previsto, especialmente por accidente o error de cálculo. Se usa para movimientos físicos, medidas o metas financieras.

Común en contextos técnicos, científicos y financieros (por ejemplo, 'overshooting del presupuesto'). Menos usado en lenguaje coloquial. No es igual que 'overdoing', que significa excederse en una acción en general.
