Definition

人が意識を失っている、またはとても深く眠っている状態を指します。ボクシングでノックアウトされた時のような様子です。

日常会話で疲れ切って深く眠ったり、気絶している時によく使います。『ちょっと寝てる』場合には使いません。

He was so tired that he was out for the count by 9 p.m.
