Definition

কারও সম্পর্কে বলা হয় যে সে গোপনে টাকা বা অন্য পুরস্কার নিচ্ছে, সাধারণত অবৈধ বা দুর্নীতিপূর্ণ কাজের বিনিময়ে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

কথ্য ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়, পুলিশের বা সরকারি কর্মকর্তাদের দুর্নীতির প্রসঙ্গে। 'on the take' সরাসরি প্রকাশ্য চুরি নয়, বরং গোপনে ঘুষ নেওয়ার ঘটনা বোঝায়।
