Definition
「はい」や同意、承認を示す返事や言い方をすること。否定や拒否ではない。

主にフォーマルや法律、アンケートの文脈で使う表現。反対語は'in the negative'。'in the affirmative'は「肯定的に答えた」などと使う。日常会話では'yes'を使う。
