やる気や興味がなく、ただ義務感や習慣で物事をこなすこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、仕事や人間関係などでやる気がない様子を指す。「just go through the motions」で実際には心がこもっていない意味になる。
