Definition

家や場所を離れて出かけること。友達と遊びに行ったり用事を済ませたりするときに使います。また、電気や火が消えるときにも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

友達と遊びに行ったり、デートする時などカジュアルな会話でよく使います。『go outside』はただ外に出るだけの意味なので違います。電気や火が消える時にも使われます。

Examples

I want to go out tonight with my friends.

今夜は友達と**出かけたい**です。

The lights go out when there is a storm.

嵐が来ると電気が**消えます**。

We usually go out for dinner on Saturdays.
