অপ্রয়োজনীয় কথা এড়িয়ে মূল বিষয় বা সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশটি বলা।

অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহার হয়, বিশেষত যখন কেউ ঢিমেতাল বা অনেক কথা বলছে। 'cut to the chase', 'be direct' এর মতো অর্থ।
