新聞や雑誌に載っているユーモラスな漫画や風刺画のこと。主に新聞の一部として掲載される。

主にアメリカの英語表現で、今はやや古い。新聞の漫画専用で、ウェブ漫画や漫画雑誌、コメディ全般は含まない。「read the funnies」は新聞漫画を読むことを指す。
