무언가를 서툴고 어색하게 다루거나 실수로 떨어뜨리는 것. 말하거나 행동할 때 실수하는 것도 의미함.

주로 비공식적인 상황에서 사용됨. '열쇠를 더듬거리다', '공을 놓치다', '말을 더듬다'와 같은 표현에 자주 쓰임. 스포츠에서는 볼 컨트롤을 잃을 때 사용함.

She fumbled with her keys at the door.
