物を扱うときに不器用で失敗すること。また、話したり行動したりする際に間違えることも指す。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に日常会話で使われる。'fumbled with keys'は鍵を探しながらまごつく、'fumbled for words'は言葉に詰まる、などの表現がある。スポーツではボールを落とすことも指す。
