何かを不用意に、またはふざけていじること。時に思わぬ問題や危険を引き起こすことがある。また、関わるべきでないことに手を出す意味もある。

カジュアルな表現で、物をいじる時や、やってはいけないことに関わる時に使う。'mess with'に似ている。注意や冗談として使われることがある。
