通常はデバイス、システム、アカウントなどを動作しないようにオフにすること。

主にITやセキュリティ関連で使われます。「無効化する」は何を無効にするかと一緒に使われます（例：アカウントを無効化する）。「削除」とは違い、元に戻せることが多いです。
