本当にかわいいというより、わざと過剰にかわいく振る舞ったり、子供っぽく見せようとする様子。「やりすぎ」や「わざとらしい」と感じる時に使う。

カジュアルな会話で使われ、批判的に聞こえることも多い。「cutesy」はジェスチャーや話し方、飾りなどが「やりすぎ」だと感じた時に合う表現。イントネーションによっては冗談っぽくもなる。
