Usage Notes (Japanese)
直訳では寄り添う意味、比喩的には誰かに取り入る意味でカジュアルな会話に使われます。「cosy up to someone」などの形が多い。比喩的な意味の場合、下心やご機嫌取りのニュアンスがあります。
