Definition

किसी चीज को छोटे टुकड़ों में काटना, आमतौर पर चाकू से। ज्यादा तर खाना बनाते समय इस्तेमाल होता है, लेकिन किसी चीज को भागों में बाँटने के लिए भी बोला जाता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Chop up' अनौपचारिक है और खाना बनाते समय सामान्य है ('chop up the potatoes')। 'Slice' (पतली स्लाइस) और 'dice' (बराबर टुकड़े) से अलग है। कभी-कभी किसी चीज को हिस्सों में बाँटने के लिए भी बोला जाता है ('chop up the plan')।
