話しにくいことやデリケートな話題を話し始めること。特に慎重に切り出す場面で使います。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「broached the subject of」や「broached the idea」のような表現とよく一緒に使われます。カジュアルな場面よりも、ややフォーマルなシーンで使います。物理的な「開く」意味には使いません。
