أن تفعل أو تقول شيئًا قبل شخص آخر، خاصةً عندما تكون هناك منافسة أو رغبة في أن تكون الأول.

تعبر غالبًا عن مواقف غير رسمية وتوحي بمنافسة ودية أو عندما يفاجئك شخص ما بسبقه. شائعة في العمل أو الرياضة أو الحديث الودي. بدائل: "يسبقه", "يبادر أولاً".
