船や海洋生物が意図的に陸に乗り上げる、または偶然浜辺に座礁する行為のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に海事や動物学の文脈で使われます。船の場合はわざと陸に乗り上げること、動物の場合（クジラやイルカ等）は意図せず浜に迷い込むことに使います。ビーチでくつろぐ意味ではありません。
