在食物烹飪時澆上黃油、肉汁等液體,以保持濕潤並增加風味。

常見於烹飪,特別是烤肉和禽類。僅指烹飪過程中添加液體,不包括前後。在縫紉中“baste”是另一個意思,但這裡僅指烹飪。
