Definition

কোনো কিছু যখন নড়াচড়া করছে না বা সক্রিয় নয়; স্থিতাবস্থায় থাকা বা মানসিকভাবে শান্ত হওয়া।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

বিজ্ঞান এবং চিকিত্সা ক্ষেত্রে 'at rest' ব্যবহার হয় যেমন 'the object is at rest', অর্থাৎ কোনো বস্তুর গতি নেই। কবিতায় বা কথ্যভাষায় মানসিক প্রশান্তি বোঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'resting' (বিশ্রাম নেওয়া) শব্দটির সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
