Definition

柳は細長い枝と細い葉を持ち、水辺に多く見られる木や低木です。しなやかで垂れ下がる姿が特徴です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「柳」はウィロー属全体を指します。「しだれ柳」という表現もよく使われます。他の木については使いません。
