어떤 것의 위치, 수준, 또는 부분이 위쪽에 있을 때 사용합니다. 주로 물건이나 신체, 건물의 윗부분을 가리킵니다.

주로 '위층', '위쪽 서랍' 등 형용사로 자주 쓰입니다. 일상 대화에서는 '위', '윗층' 등으로도 대체되어 사용됩니다. 'lower'와 반대되는 의미입니다.
