천둥번개를 동반한 구름에서 지상으로 이어지는, 매우 강하게 회전하는 바람기둥으로 큰 피해를 줄 수 있다. 아주 에너지 넘치거나 혼란스러운 상황을 비유적으로 표현할 때도 쓴다.
Usage Notes (Korean)
'토네이도'는 영어식 표현이고, '회오리바람'은 순우리말로 주로 자연현상을 설명할 때 사용된다. 비유적으로 매우 빠르거나 정신없는 행동을 표현할 때 쓴다.
