الطماطم هي ثمار مستديرة حمراء أو صفراء مع لب عصيري، وتُستخدم كثيرًا كخضار في الطبخ والسلطات.

'Tomatoes' هو الجمع لكلمة 'tomato'. شائع في عبارات مثل 'fresh tomatoes' و'cherry tomatoes' و'ripe tomatoes'. عند الطهي، يُقصد بها غالباً الثمار الكاملة وليس المنتجات مثل الصلصة. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'potatoes'.
