「swims」は「泳ぐ」の三人称単数形で、誰かや何かが体を使って水の中を移動することを表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にhe/she/itなど三人称単数のときに使います。「I/you/we/they」には使いません。「プールで泳ぐ」「速く泳ぐ」などの表現とよく一緒に使われます。
