Definition

「stung」は刺される、もしくは心が傷つくような強い痛みを感じたことを表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「by」と共に「虫に刺された」と使う。他にも、心に響く言葉や行動で「傷ついた」と比喩的にも使われます。「stabbed」（刃物で刺す）とは区別します。
