'애피타이저'는 식사의 처음에 나오는 작은 요리를 의미합니다. 또한 어떤 일을 처음 시작하는 사람을 가리키기도 합니다.

식당에서는 '애피타이저'로 쓰고, 메인 요리에는 해당하지 않습니다. 사람에게 쓰면 '초보자'입니다. 'for starters'는 '우선'이라는 뜻입니다.
