Definition

Square एक ऐसी आकृति है जिसकी चारों भुजाएँ बराबर होती हैं और चारों कोण समकोण होते हैं। इसका अर्थ शहर या कस्बे में खुला सार्वजनिक चौक भी हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह ज़्यादातर संज्ञा के रूप में आता है, लेकिन विशेषण ('a square table') और गणित में क्रिया ('square a number') के रूप में भी इस्तेमाल होता है। आकार के लिए 'square room' और 'square piece of paper' जैसे प्रयोग आम हैं; सार्वजनिक जगह के लिए 'town square' बहुत प्रचलित है। इसे 'rectangle' से न मिलाएँ।
