Definition

'Spells' বলতে জাদুমন্ত্র বোঝায় যা অলৌকিক কিছু ঘটাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, অথবা স্বল্প সময়ের জন্য যেকোনো ঘটনা ঘটাকে বোঝাতে পারে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

এটি বহুবচন; কল্পকাহিনী ও ফ্যান্টাসি গল্পে 'মন্ত্র' অর্থে এবং আবহাওয়া বা অনুভূতির ক্ষণিক সময় বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'spelling' অর্থে ব্যবহার হয় না। যেমন 'a cold spell' মানে অল্প সময়ের ঠান্ডা।
