말하는 능력 또는 청중 앞에서 공식적으로 하는 발표나 연설. 일상적인 구어와 계획된 공식 연설 모두를 의미함.

Usage Notes (Korean)

보통 공식적으로 청중 앞에서 하는 발표에 많이 쓰임('give a speech', 'make a speech'). 때로는 말하는 능력이나 권리를 뜻함('speech therapy', 'free speech'). 'talk'보다 더 공식적인 단어임.
